Terms of Service

These are the reservation, cancellation, safety, photo, and party policies of Kay's Acres, LLC.

Reservations and payment

Reservations are booked and paid in full in advance for all Kay's Acres services. We accept all major credit cards.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your ride to complete required waivers. Our guides can't delay for late arrivals, and if others are scheduled at the same time we can't wait for your group.

Cancellation

Trail rides are transferable to friends or family when the request is made 48 hours before your appointment. Rescheduling requests may be subject to a rescheduling fee.

If Kay's Acres cancels due to unsafe riding conditions from weather or emergency care for one of our animals, we'll reschedule you for a future date within 60 days.

In the event of a no-show, payment is retained by Kay's Acres, LLC.

Riders found to have filled out their reservation with faulty information, including height, weight, and age, may be denied their trail ride without refund.

Weather

If weather turns during your scheduled ride, we'll either wait it out or work to reschedule. Often it's a passing shower and we can still get out, just behind schedule.

If you have a reservation, plan on coming unless we call you. We will always let you know if we need to cancel for weather.

Safety

No riding experience is required. All of our horses are professionally trained and beginner friendly, and all rides are walk only for the safety of horse and rider.

Under no circumstances may the horses be run. Riders found intentionally running their horse will be asked to dismount and return to the barn.

Our weight limit is 300 lbs. We understand taller riders sometimes weigh more, so we try to be flexible, considering ground conditions, workload for the animal, and terrain.

We can accommodate riders as young as 4. There is an additional $5 fee for riders under 16.

We recommend long pants and closed-toe shoes.

Electronic devices are prohibited from the barn area and are not allowed on trail rides, including cell phones and Meta glasses.

No outside food may be fed to our animals. Carrots are available for purchase on the farm so we can monitor what our animals eat.

Photos

Photos may be taken during your ride for marketing purposes. Photos are only available to customers who purchase a photo package.

You're welcome to take as many pictures as you like in our petting zoo and Western Town. While on horseback, please keep your hands and attention available for your ride. A photo pack of 10–15 photos is available for $25 — your guide takes them during your ride and they're ready when you finish.

Birthday parties

We'll schedule your party as close to your requested date and time as possible. We collect a 50% deposit to finalize the reservation, with final payment due 24 hours before the start time.

There's no age limit to ride the pony, but the rider must be able to stabilize themselves, either independently or with help from a parent or guardian. Pony weight limit is 130 lbs, with accommodations for higher limits on request.

Speakers, outside animals, piñatas, and latex balloons are prohibited.
